IsaArboristBuddy ("the App") is developed by Ideas All Day Ltd. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
When you scan a tree, the photo is sent to a third-party AI provider for analysis via a secure backend service. Photos are processed in real-time to generate the species identification and health diagnosis, and are not permanently stored on our servers after analysis is complete. A copy of the photo is saved locally on your device alongside each tree you choose to keep in your collection.
Your identified trees, photos, care events (pruning, watering, inspections), notes, achievements, quiz history, and chat conversations with the per-tree AI are stored locally on your device and synced privately through your personal Apple iCloud account. We do not have access to this data — it never reaches our servers.
With your permission, the App captures your approximate location at the moment of an identification so it can be saved alongside the tree (so you can find it again later on a map). Location is captured only while the App is in use, is stored locally with your tree collection, and is synced only through your private iCloud account. You can deny or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services; the App works fully without it — trees simply will not have a location attached.
When you ask the AI follow-up questions about a specific tree, the question text and a snapshot of the tree's identification metadata (species, family, health rating, detected issues, your notes) are sent to the same AI provider for the duration of the request. The chat history is stored locally on your device and synced via iCloud, never to our servers.
We use a privacy-focused analytics service to understand aggregate app usage patterns — for example, how many identifications happen per session, which features are most used. This data is anonymous and cannot be traced back to individual users. We do not use device fingerprinting or cross-app tracking.

Photos and chat prompts sent for AI processing are not retained on our servers after the request completes. Your tree collection, care log, quiz history, and chat conversations persist on your device and your iCloud account until you choose to delete them. Deleting the App removes the local copy; iCloud copies follow Apple's standard retention rules for your account.
The App is rated for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. No account or sign-up is required to use the App.
